Day 1 USA

We depart from an international airport for our overnight flight to London. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board.

Day 2 London

Upon arrival in London we will be transferred by private motorcoach to our hotel. We will begin our trip with a tour of John Wesley’s Chapel and house. We continue onto Bunhill Field, stopping by the graves of Susanna Wesley, John Bunyan, Daniel Defoe and other famous personages. Our tour continues to the City of London, where we stop by Aldersgate Street, Charter House, St. Lukes Church, Wesley’s Parish Church, and Susanna’s birthplace. Enjoy a welcome dinner tonight and overnight in London. (D)

Day 3 Lincoln/ Epworth/ Leicester

Today we head north through the green English countryside of Lincoln, once known as the Roman town of Lindum Colonia. Here we visit the great cathedral that was founded by the Normans in 1074. We’ll see the magnificent central tower, the two glorious round stained glass windows called “Dean’s Eye” and “Bishop’s Eye”, the Lincoln Imp, the Angel Choir and the Wren Library. We continue onto Epworth, birthplace of John and Charles Wesley. Here we will visit the Old Rectory, Memorial and Parish Churches. Heading south, we will stop in Leicester for dinner and overnight. Day 4 Coventry/ Stratford/ Oxford

Morning departure from Leicester for West Bromwich to visit the boyhood home of Francis Asbury. Then, a short drive to Coventry to tour the strikingly beautiful new cathedral, a miracle in sandstone and modern glass rising proudly against the haunting shell of the old cathedral destroyed in World War II. We will continue on to Stratford-upon-Avon, a lovely town immortalized by memories of Shakespeare and strongly Elizabethan in its character. Here we will visit Shakespeare’s birthplace and Anne Hathaway’s cottage at Shottery. We then travel across the picturesque Cotswolds to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 5 Cotswold/ Gloucester/ Bristol

Morning sightseeing of Oxford includes a visit to Lincoln College and Christ Church College, where John graduated in 1724. In the afternoon we leave Oxford and cross the southern part of the Cotswold Hills through Cheltenham to nearby Gloucester. We shall visit the small church from which Robert Raikes launched the Sunday School movement and where an early Women’s Missionary Movement had its beginnings. It is here also that George Whitfield lit the fires of the revival movement. We will top off our sightseeing with a visit to the magnificent Gloucester cathedral. We continue to Bristol, a city much frequented by the Wesleys’ for dinner and overnight. (B, D) .

Day 6 London

After breakfast, we shall share in a worship service in the New Room, Wesley’s first chapel and the least changed Methodist shrine. Following the service we’ll tour Charles Wesley’s home. Then we continue to historic Salisbury for a visit to the great cathedral and its unique spire. Continue to London where you will have dinner on your own and overnight. (B) .

Day 7 London

At leisure in London to browse as desired. Optional tours are available for those who wish further sightseeing. You can enjoy the English theatre, great English restaurants, shopping or just relax after this busy week. (B)

Day 8 USA

Breakfast with a short period of leisure for hurried goodbyes or a bit of shopping. Following checkout we will board our private motorcoach to the airport for our return flight home. Enjoy full meal and beverage service in-flight. Arrive home the same day. (B) .
