DAY 1 – USA

Depart on overnight flight to Edinburgh. Dinner served on board. (D)

DAY 2 – EDINBURGH

Arrival into Edinburgh, where you are met by your Scottish guide and taken on an orientation tour of this magnificent capital city. We will tour the house of renowned Protestant reformer John Knox. Next, we stop by the beautiful St Giles Cathedral, the principal place of worship of the Church of Scotland and The Palace of the Holyrood House. Check into your hotel with time to relax before dinner and overnight in Edinburgh. (D)

DAY 3 – ST. ANDREWS

This morning we travel to nearby Haddington, the birthplace of John Knox. Then we continue to St Andrews, one of Scotland’s oldest university towns and the “home” of golf. Visit the Cathedral and places associated with John Knox and George Wishart. Next we visit Scone Palace, the crowning place of Scottish Kings. Overnight in Edinburgh. (B)

DAY 4 – DUMFRIES AND WHITHORN

This morning we depart Edinburgh traveling south towards Dumfries. En route we stop at Drumlanrig Castle, home of the current Duke of Buccleuch. We continue to Whithorn, one of Scotland’s earliest towns and the site of the first Christian settlement. Here we’ll tour the renowned Whithorn and Priory museum and enjoy a service at St Ninian’s Priory, Church of Scotland. Overnight in Dumfries. (B, D)

DAY 5 – BORDER ABBEYS

Today we will visit several ancient Abbeys, including the Melrose, Jedburgh and Kelso Abbeys. Each of these prominent sites were founded by David 1 in the early 12 century. Dinner and overnight in the area. (B, D)

DAY 6 – STIRLING/OBAN

Following breakfast, we travel through the very scenic Trossachs Region, stopping at Stirling Castle. Enjoy Stirling Castle’s turbulent history associated with William Wallace and Mary Queen of Scots. Continue on to Oban for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

DAY 7 – IONA

This morning you board your ferry to the beautiful Isle of Mull, followed by another short ferry ride to historic Iona. Here you will have a walking tour of Iona, stopping by the old Nunnery and historic Abbey, burial site of Scottish Kings. Late afternoon return via Mull to Oban over dinner and overnight. (B, D)

DAY 8 – LOCH LOMOND/ GLASGOW

Drive via the shores of Loch Lomond, the largest surface area of fresh water in the UK. Here you will be taken on an included cruise of the Loch Lomand. Continue on to Glasgow for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

DAY 9 – GLASGOW

This morning we will visit St. Mungos, a renowned cathedral in Glasgow. We then visit the beautiful Kelvingrove Art Gallery, which houses one of Europe’s great civic art collections. Spend the afternoon at your leisure, taking in the beauty of Glasgow. This evening we will have a farewell dinner. (B, D)

DAY 10 – GLASGOW/ USA

Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to the USA. (B)
