DAY 1 -April 14 Tuesday - USA
Depart from USA on your overnight flight to Milan. Dinner and breakfast
served on board.
DAY 2 - April 15 Wednesday - MILAN
Upon arrival in Milan, we will be
met and transferred to our coach to begin our visit to this beautiful city.
Visits include The Duomo, the third largest gothic church in Europe and
the church of Santa Maria Delle Grazie. To the left of this church is a
shrine to Leonardo da Vinci's Last Supper. Continue our orientation tour of
the city before we drive on to Padua hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)
DAY 3 - April 16 Thursday - VENICE
Our full day tour includes taking a
vaporetto (boat) to get to central Venice where you will have a walking
tour of the city. Visit Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica and Square, the
Bridge of Sighs and The Rialto Bridge. The afternoon is leisure to walk
around Venice on your own until its time to return to Padua for overnight.
Dinner on your own this evening. (B)
DAY 4 - April 17 Friday - PADUA/FLORENCE
Today after breakfast and a short visit to the Basilica of St Anthony in
Padua we will depart for Florence stopping in Ferrara to visit a Jewish-
Christian Museum which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Continue on
to Florence. Upon arrival we will have some free time to explore on your
own. Dinner and overnight in Florence. (B,D)
DAY 5 - April 18 Saturday - FLORENCE
Morning tour takes us to
Michelangelo Square for a panoramic view of the city, the Academia to see
Michelangelo's original David Statue, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistry
with its “Gates of Paradise” doors, Signoria Square and Santa Croce
Church. Today lunch is included in Luca, outside of Florence, at "Fattoria
il Poggio". Return to hotel late afternoon. Dinner on your own this evening.
Overnight in Florence.(B, L)
DAY 6 - April 19 Sunday - FLORENCE/ASSISI/ROME
Today after
breakfast we attend service at either St James (Episcopal) or St Mark’s
(Church of England). Afterwards we depart for Assisi as we experience
Tuscany and Umbria - two of Italy's most scenic regions. Once in Assisi,
our tour visits the Crypt of St. Francis under the huge Basilica of St.
Francis, which contains many of his possessions and a series of frescoes
depicting his life. Our guided tour continues with a visit to the Church of
St. Clare, where the body of the great Saint rests, and St. Mary of the
Angeles Basilica. Late afternoon we drive on to our Rome hotel for dinner
and overnight. (B, D)
DAY 7 - April 20 Monday - ROME
After morning prayers we begin our
full day of sightseeing to include the art and treasures found in the Sistine
Chapel and Vatican Museum. Continue to St. Peter's Basilica, the largest
church in the Christian world, built over the tomb of St. Peter. Then
proceed to the Piazza Venezia, and the Roman Forum, with a stop at the
Colosseum - a testament to the greatness of Rome's past. Continue your
full tour day with visits to the Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, the
Synagogue, Isola Tiberina. Return to hotel. Dinner on your own this
evening. (B)
DAY 8 - April 21 Tuesday - ROME
Morning sightseeing of Rome to
include the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona and the
Anglican Centre. Afternoon at leisure before we celebrate our farewell
dinner at a local restaurant for our last overnight in Rome. (B, D)
DAY 9 -April 22 Wednesday - ROME/USA
Today we say farewell to
Rome and take with us wonderful memories from our Italian Pilgrimage.
We are transferred to the airport for our flight to the USA. (B)
