Depart from Louisville for your overnight flights to Rome.
Upon arrival into Rome, you are met, assisted and taken on an orientation tour (approx. 4
hours) of the city before checking into your hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)
Begin with an all-day sightseeing tour of the Eternal City of Rome. Sights will include
The Appian Way, Capitoline Hill, St Peter in Chains, the Colosseum (outside only), Piazza
Navona, Circxus Maximus, Fountains of Trevi and the Spanish Steps. Afternoon visit to the
catacombs then return to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Today we begin a tour of the priceless collection of art and treasures found in the
Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums. We then continue to St Peter's Basilica, the largest
church in the Christian world, built over the tomb of St Peter. Afternoon at leisure. Dinner

We depart Rome this morning for Orvieto. Here we visit their famous Duomo. Afternoon we
travel through Tuscany to Siena, one of Italy's best preserved medieval cities. We will see
the Piazza del Campo and famous Cathedral. We then travel to Florence for dinner and
Morning walking tour of this beautiful city including visiting the Academia to see
Michelangelo's "David", Giotto's Bell Tower, The Baptistry, Signoria Square and Santa Croce
Church where famous Italians are buried including Michelangelo and Galileo. You will have
time for lunch in the area near the Uffizi Gallery before you walk to the Gallery for your
visit. Afterwards, you can walk back to your hotel or remain in the area for dinner on your
This morning you will drive outside of Florence, through the countryside to the town of San
Gimignano, a very scenic medieval hilltop town. Late morning visit a winery for a tour and
a light lunch. Arrive back into Florence in the afternoon. Balance of day at leisure.

Depart from Florence for Assisi. First stop will be a short visit to see St Mary of the
Angels Basilica, where St Francis prayed. After hotel check-in we begin our walking tour
which includes the immense Basilica of St Francis, the crypt. ( guided visit is not permitted
at the Basilica, guide will stay outside after brief introduction ) Continue to the Church of St
Clare, which houses her body. Return to your hotel at leisure for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
Morning departure from Assisi driving back to Rome. Afternoon check into your hotel and a
leisure afternoon before your farewell dinner. (B,D)
Early morning transfer to the airport for your return to the USA.
